School of Urban Ministry

***Each student must also have filled out a registration form on or before the first day of class or they will not get credit for taking the class. These forms have the class descriptions on them and are available at the Connect Table in the foyer.

School of Urban Ministry (SUM) Classes
 (Classes are from 6:30-8pm in the Fellowship Hall or Classroom #1)
>September 9th through October 21st (Mondays) ~ “Christian Ethics” taught by Pastor Eric Lind
>September 10th through October 22nd (Tuesdays) ~ “History of the Church ll” taught by Dr. Larry Hansen
>September 17th through October 29th (Tuesdays) ~ “Living Free” taught by Pastor Jon Graciano


♦Mission Trip to Cambodia ~ October 13th – 20th ~ please pray for the team going there: Pastor Jim Cornwell, Dr. Daniel Lewis, Mark Woolum, Durrell Bartley, Josh Charron, Toni Mueller, and Jim & Kathy Jackson. Please pray that the time would be edifying for those that go, and also for the church there, and that it would be a redemptive trip.
♦Prayer Group ~ Thursdays (every other week) ~ the next prayer time is October 17th @ 7pm (no prayer on October 31st) in the Gift Shop.  All are welcome to attend these prayer gatherings. Check the online calendar for exact dates and any changes to the prayer times. 
♦Ladies Game Night ~ October 18th @ 6pm ~ come and enjoy some fun and fellowship with other ladies. Any questions, please see Cathy Kazibwe or email womenofgracetacoma@gmail.com.
♦Women’s Fall Fellowship ~ October 19th @ 5pm in the Fellowship Hall. All ladies are encouraged and welcome to join us for pumpkin spice lattes, food, fun, and fellowship.
♦Chili Cook-Off Fundraiser ~ October 27th in the Fellowship Hall directly after service. Chili and cornbread will be served ~ $5 per person/$20 per family. Funds will go to support missions and the 2020 Northwest Conference. Sign up today to enter “your famous chili” at the table in the Foyer. Don’t forget your chili cook-off rules and timetable! There will be category prizes with 1-year bragging rights!!!
Joeseppi’s Fundraiser Takeover ~ Sunday, October 27th from 4-8pm (Joeseppi’s Italian Ristorante, 2207 N. Pearl St. in Tacoma) ~ come and enjoy a wonderful dinner in support of Stacey Moore’s Team World Vision Comrades Marathon event in June, 2020 in South Africa. Joeseppi’s will be donating 10% of the food sales that night. Lots of great raffle prizes including the grand prize: a 1-night stay at Hotel Murano and a $200 gift card to El Gaucho, plus many more! ♦Strategic Prayer ~ November 2nd from 10-11am in the Chapel or Classroom #1. We plan to highlight and strategically pray for a specific ministry each month and hope to have that ministry leader join us to pray for the needs of that particular leader and ministry. All are welcome to join us.
Young Adults Study November 3rd @ 5pm in the Gift Shop. This is a group for those who are ages 18-30’s. It’s a casual time of fellowship with a large focus on building Christ-centered relationships. There is a time of fellowship, games, and a devotional. Childcare is not provided, so we kindly ask that you please arrange your own childcare ahead of time. ♦NLP Graduation (New Life Program) ~ November 8th @ 6pm in the Chapel. All are welcome to attend this graduation as we honor those who have finished this program offered by and part of the Tacoma Rescue Mission.
♦Saturday CAP visitation ~ We have visitation of our enrolled CAP children and their families along with evangelism on . We’re also knocking on doors on Saturdays to sign up new children for CAP, and we pair people with experienced individuals. We meet at 10:15am at Roosevelt Park, 3601 E. Roosevelt Ave. in Tacoma Those interested or for schedule changes should contact Pastor Jim Cornwell or Eugene Jeffers at cap@lgministries.org.
♦Fall season of CAP / Christian Athletic Program (free sports program for children ages 5-14) ~ (Soccer & Flag Football) started September 7th on Saturdays through October 26th from 12noon until 1pm, with an awards ceremony on Saturday, October 26th, at Roosevelt Park at 3601 E. Bible Study/Coffee Fellowship ~ every Saturday from 8-9am in the Fellowship Hall where we enjoy a time of Bible teaching and fellowship. Any questions, please see Dr. Larry Hansen.
