Getting Connected Through Ministry…Where Can I Serve?

Jesus told us, His disciples, to make disciples of all nations.  One of the most important values of Living Grace Church is our mission to the world. It begins in our own community and spreads overseas to every nation.  The people in our church family are involved in a variety of ministries from things as simple as sweeping the floor to preparing the church bulletins.  If you have any questions and/or are interested in serving in any of these areas, please check out our calendar or feel free to call the church office @ (253) 584-3778.

Mission Outreach

Living Grace Church is thrilled to be a part of spreading God’s kingdom around the world.  We are active in sending missionaries and supporting these missionaries with our money and with our prayers.  We plan trips as often as we can, taking a team to visit and assist our missionaries in practical projects and evangelistic outreach.  We encourage all of our people to respond to God’s call for laborers, whether it means that they move to a foreign country or live and minister in our own community.

Music & Drama

God-honoring worship is something we strive for.  Many church members get involved in our music ministry.  Some play their instruments.  Some are vocalists.  Others are involved in the choir.  Still others get involved in drama and skits.  These volunteers are an important part of the ministry of our church using their talents and gifts to glorify God.

Deacons and Greeters

The deacons and greeters are a team at Living Grace Church that fills an important role.  They are involved in issuing name tags, directing attendees to their seats, ensuring the safety of the building during services, guiding traffic and parking, helping visitors, answering questions, providing directions, unlocking doors, locking doors, and generally ensuring that the service can proceed problem-free.  This team is a servant-hearted group of men and women whose ministry is integral to church life.

Media & Technology (A/V)

Using media to spread the gospel is a privilege of Living Grace Church. In an age of widespread technology, we have a stewardship to use these tools as best as possible for kingdom purposes.  All of our weekly sermons are uploaded to our website in audio formats.  We also upload the sermon handouts so that our internet listeners can follow along. We maintain an active Facebook, Twitter feed, and ministry-wide emails for additional church communication.

Prayer Warriors

Prayer cannot be overestimated.  Prayer moves the hand of God.  Living Grace Church is a body of believers dependent upon prayer, and committed to God’s sovereignty.  Each Sunday, during the morning service, a team of volunteers is praying for the ministry of the Word. Throughout the week, volunteers to our Prayer Warriors’ team pray for their pastor, a list of church members, any special requests, and missionary prayer needs.  We also have corporate prayer once a month in the chapel, and all are welcome to come and pray.  If you have a special prayer request, you can email our team at:  prayer@lgministries.org.

Children’s Church

In order to give our children the best Bible teaching possible, Living Grace Church holds children’s church classes in conjunction with the main service.  This special time gives kids more opportunity for interaction and learning in a context and manner that may be better suited to their age and learning styles.  Our friendly children’s church volunteers have an endless stream of creativity—ranging from crafts, to games, to object lessons.  If your passion is children, this is the place for you!

Food Bank

Living Grace Church has a Food Bank that serves the community and is open every Saturday from 12 pm-2pm.   Are you are passionate about helping others?  Do you love people, want to volunteer and are free on Saturdays? If your answer is YES…this is the place to be!

(The Food Bank does not discriminate or withhold services based on economic or social status, and will not discriminate on the basis of: race, color, ethnic origin, national origin, creed, religion, political belief, sex, sexual orientation, marital status, mental abilities, disabilities, age or any other expression.  All are welcome to participate or not participate in our activities.)

Saturday Night Feed

In collaboration with several other local churches, the SNF team serves delicious and nutritious meals every Saturday at the Tacoma Rescue Mission at 5:30 PM.  Pray about this outreach to the homeless population of Tacoma/Pierce County.  All are welcome to participate!

Panera Bread Ministry

We have a dedicated team of people who pick up bread and pastries at a local Panera bakery every Saturday night, delivering it to the church on Sunday mornings, bagging it up and putting it out for distribution among two church families.  This ministry is an easy “first” to serving the church families.

Christian Athletic Program (CAP)

CAP provides free sports to boys and girls, ages 5-14, in the Tacoma area. This non-profit ministry of Living Grace Church was founded in 1987 by Pastor Tom Powell. Having served thousands of children and families all throughout Pierce County, CAP affords the unique opportunity for children to be involved with sports at no cost.
