About Pastor Tom Powell

Pastor Tom Powell, BTS, M.ThS, M.Div

Born and raised in Richmond, Virginia, Tom Powell received Christ in 1975 while serving in the U.S. Army in Korea. After finishing military life in 1977, he relocated to attend Bible College in MA where he contributed to and witnessed a youth revival that saw many teenagers called to full-time ministry.

In 1981, he, his family, and ten others left New England to pioneer a church in Tacoma, Washington. In nearly 30 years, that work has grown into Living Grace Ministries. This church is characterized by an active burden for the lost and a deep love for the Bible. Today, Living Grace Ministries serves the local and surrounding areas of Tacoma with many community and international outreaches and partnerships.

Pastor Powell has continued throughout his ministry to pursue higher educational goals. He completed his Bachelor of Theological Studies from Maryland Bible College and Seminary, a Master of Theological Studies degree from Northwest Baptist Seminary, and a Master of Divinity degree from Luther Rice University & Seminary.
